Biographie

Marie Hiliquin is a Doctor of Geography, holding dual qualifications in spatial planning and urbanism. Her thesis, defended in 2023 at the University of Lille, focuses on the Belt and Road Initiative and China’s regional strategy in Central Asia. Her research focused on infrastructure development on the border between China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, with a case study on the Khorgos free trade zone.

She is currently a post-doctoral fellow at IRSEM Europe in Brussels, her research project focuses on China's presence in the European Union.
